Duties
Responsible for Telecommunications and Information Management in the Operations Mission area.
Evaluates and makes recommendations concerning overall plans and proposals for telecommunications programs within the area of responsibility (AOR) of HQ US Army Pacific (USARPAC) G6, Communication and Information Networks and Joint/Coalition Network.
Develops plans, policies, and procedures; defines and implements requirements; directs operations; and manages telecommunications programs for command, control, communications, computers, and information management (C4IM) with USARPAC G6 AOR.
Provides oversight and management of 40 plus Theater level exercises and all associated Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) events.
Represents USARPAC G6 as telecommunications expert and technical authority at conferences, boards, committees, panels, and reviews.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- This position is designated as Drug Testing Required. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing in accordance with DA guidelines. Incumbent must complete DA 5019.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- Work hours may include evenings, early morning, weekend and holidays.
- Position may require duties to be performed under austere conditions during exercise and deployment operations. Specific training and immunization requirements may be required as appropriate for deployments.
- This is an obligated position.
- Probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in 1) planning telecommunication exercise events; and, 2) Coordinating with exercise planners across warfighting systems, subordinate and higher commands to execute telecommunication and C4IM (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management) exercises that support theater-wide, real-world operations for organizations within the assigned area of responsibility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
