The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as the Chief, Operations Support Branch, 367th Recruiting Group. Manages and executes all aspects of standardizing and evaluating activities which drive accession throughout the 367 RCG to include but not limited to waiver processing, data analysis, and operational training at both the squadron and group levels.
Duties
DUTY 1: Performs a broad range of operations research entailing unique problems, statutory or policy impact, creativity, innovative use of techniques, advanced approaches, and/or new technologies to ultimately ensure standardization and/or maximum production across the Group.
DUTY 2: Provides technical guidance, advisory support and assistance on an entire projects or major phases of plans to maximize recruiting yield and/or to target goals based upon sound analysis.
DUTY 3: Performs security manager responsibilities for operations within the 367 RCG and its subordinate units. Provides assistance to recruiters, flight chiefs, accession chiefs, and other squadron and group personnel with SF86 processing for applicants into the Air Force Reserve.
DUTY 4: Represents Air Force Reserve at Service and DoD level meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to standardization, evaluation, and operations; makes operational and systems recommendations and decisions impacting his/her direct area of oversight.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes serving as special projects and studies officer for the organization which involves researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices and/or handling one-of-a-kind projects requiring confidentiality and objectivity. Identifies situations/processes which need to be analyzed and improved. Plans, develops and implements programs for special events.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of broad range of operation research analysis techniques and possession of analytical abilities.
2. Knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
3. Knowledge of Air Force Reserve, Air Force and DoD policies, directives and requirements governing the recruitment of enlisted and officer personnel.
4. Knowledge of the security requirements for Air Force Reserve accessions.
5. Knowledge of United States Military Entrance Processing Command structure and function, and command relationships with all external agencies providing direct support to Air Force Reserve recruiting operations.
6. Skills in coordinating extensive projects in assigned area of responsibility. Projects are characterized by high visibility, a sense of urgency, or program criticality.
7. Skills to negotiate and/or defend findings and program support concepts.
8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
9. Ability to maintain good working relations.
10. Ability to plan, organize, direct, and manage the functions and staff of a small organization.
11. Ability to effectively research DoD and service publications.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
