This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), House Office Buildings (HOB), Client Services Division, Labor and Custodial Branch, Day Labor and Custodial Section. The incumbent provides management and direction of the custodial and labor workforces, coordinates a variety of technical and regulatory functions, coordinates the movement and storage of materials throughout the HOB and handles sensitive contacts with Members and their staffs.
Duties
Provides administrative and technical direction through subordinate supervisors and team leaders. Plans organizational structure and staffing needs, determines types of jobs required and assigns duties to key subordinate positions.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.Candidates for the GS-12 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as having experience:
(1) Assisting with administrative and supervisory functions for a custodial or labor workforce; (2) Managing complex work requirements, work procedures and inspections ensuring materials and equipment are properly utilized and maintained. (3) Applying extensive and practical knowledge of building operations and developing new methods and procedures for work assignments. (4) Assisting with resolving complaints and grievances within scope of authority and refers to higher authority with appropriate recommendations.
