This position is located on Grassland, Soil & Water Research Laboratory, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Plains Area (PA), in Temple Texas.
In this position, you will work with and support a team that develops tools and technologies to solve complex agricultural and environmental issues locally, nationally and internationally.
Duties
Providing information on policies, procedures, and regulations as related to mandatory training for Laboratory staff.
Ensuring the Position Staffing Plans (PSP) are updated.
Responding to walk-in applications and callers inquiring about employment opportunities and other appropriate information.
Maintaining required files on real property records; files are kept up-to-date and are made available to appropriate persons for information and/or action.
Providing personal property inventory printouts as required by Agency policy to all Location accountable officers for reconciliation and updating as appropriate.
Using processing, database or spreadsheet software to produce a variety of required documents, correspondence and reports.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

GS-06:
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-06 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-05 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience scheduling and coordinating meetings; assisting with office administration tasks including coordinating travel, ordering office supplies, or receiving leave requests; and using word processing programs to edit documents.

GS-07:
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-06 which is directly related to the work of this position, and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience preparing or reviewing financial documents; using a variety of graphical, spreadsheet, and database software for editing documents; and providing training and advisory services to the professional staff.
