Job opening: TECHNICAL WRITER (EDITOR)

Salary: $99 200 - 153 354 per year

About the Position: The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12 to 13. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.

Duties

Project Lead (PL) for technical writing professional development within the Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC). Administer PSD Education Program operations by projecting training needs, scheduling classes, and responding to requests for education support. Provide authoritative guidance for all types of inquiries (routine, situational, and nonstandard) to commodity technical writers within assigned area. Originate Memorandum for Record (MFR) for continuity at a division level. Primary responsibility for development, implementation, and reinforcement of metrics in assigned duty area. Develop and present reports to leadership. Resolve complex problems related to enforcement at the peer level within directorate, with minimal oversight. Work with management to analyze problems and recommend process improvements. Effectively convey complex information related to equipment publications and achieve positive outcomes by mentoring other PSD trainers in how to teach technical writing courses and teaching PSD education courses as required. Maintain technical writing proficiency through performance of routine duties and support to cross-division peers. Develop technical writing final policy, education, decision, resource, or other digital material from direct policy, subject matter expert interviews, and other sources. Seek out emerging opportunities for technical publications innovation through process improvements and technology enhancements. Administer and maintain content PSD Education SharePoint site. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics advanced certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty.
