This position is located in the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Programs Office. Is responsible for programmatic/fiscal oversight, planning, development, implementation, and assessment of grant programs that address drug and general crime prevention and control management of offenders, and improvement in the policies, procedures, and information management systems used by criminal/juvenile justice agencies at state, local and tribal levels.

Qualifications

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSQualifying experience for the GS-12 level includes one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples are: implementing and managing Federal grants and cooperative agreements, and providing grants-related assistance and services, such as processing standard grant/agreement close-outs and dispositions; evaluating grantee/awardee performance and compliance; and conducting risk assessments and business reviews.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Ability to communicate in writing.Ability to plan and execute work.Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.Knowledge of the laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and methods governing Federal grants and/or cooperative agreements, and awards.Knowledge of grant and cooperative agreement program management principles, concepts, methods, processes, and techniques consistent with sound business and industry practices.Ability to apply analytical methods and techniques in the identification and resolution of grant and/or cooperative agreement administration issues.
