About the Position: Serves primarily as the manager of staff actions, with responsibility for providing technical and administrative direction relating to administrative policy, coordination, handling, and disposition of a variety of substantive problems, actions, and assignments. Position will be developmental to the target grade of GS-11. Upon completion of appropriate training and time in grade requirement, incumbent may be noncompetitively promoted to the next grade.

Duties

Receives, logs, reviews, analyzes, and edits all incoming correspondence directed to the Commanding General, Deputy Commander, SES, Command Sergeant Major, and/ or Executive Officer. Assists in planning protocol policies and procedures for conducting major meetings and VIP visits. Provides redundant support to the Executive Office/Executive Secretary. Familiar with front office procedures and is able to assume performs those duties in the event of a planned or unplanned absence. Independently handles or participates with others in unusual or unique surveys, quick-action studies, research tasks, and similar items. Takes necessary actions or recommends solutions to the Executive Officer.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). For GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes [insert examples of specialized experience].
