The primary purpose of this position is to manage, organize, and direct the activities and operations of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) Command Center. Evaluate assigned command center related programs as they relate to subordinate numbered air forces (NAF), wings or units.
Duties
DUTY 1:
Responsible for the HQ AFRC command and control functions.
DUTY 2:
Responsible for developing HQ AFRC Command Center policy and procedures for mission monitoring, reporting, administration and self-inspection management.
DUTY 3:
Manages and provides oversight for all Command and Control, Communications and Computers (C4) equipment in the HQ AFRC Command Center.
DUTY 4:
Manages the controller training and verification program.
DUTY 5:
Manages and executes physical, information, administrative, and communications security programs for the HQ AFRC Command Center.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of command and control issues; analyzing and evaluating command and control requirements in support of operational orders, plans, and contingency plans; and providing guidance on policies and objectives related to command and control functions. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
I. Ability to work in high stress, rapid response environment while performing multiple tasks.
2. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
3. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret command center communications such as operational reports, execution orders, emergency action plans and orders written by theater commanders.
4. Ability to research, collect, analyze, and organize data electronically on variable subjects.
5. Knowledge of and ability to work with C2 databases and web pages.
6. Skill in operating a variety ofC2 communication systems (e.g. GDSS2, GCCS, UHF/HF radios, SATCOM radios, etc).
7. Knowledge of and skill in operating a personal computer to communicate using electronic mail (e-mail) and to develop reports, briefings, and track program status using a variety of automation software such as spreadsheets, word processing, and graphics.
8. Knowledge of functions pertaining to flight operations.
9. Knowledge of support organizations and interrelationships.
IO. Knowledge of applicable personnel instructions.
I I. Ability to coordinate multiple activities with numerous agencies in a limited time.
