Summary: As a Project Manager, you will you will be responsible for overall project management of Prospectus Level projects, or projects that entail complex building and/or leasing projects.Location of position: Public Buildings Service, Office of Design and Construction, Washington, D.C. We are currently filling multiple vacancies. 

Duties

Senior project manager with responsibility for overall project management of prospectus level or equally or precedent setting projects. Oversee the project management of the most complex building and/or leasing projects from the preliminary planning stage through the design, construction, equipment installation, and check-out stage. Identify, manage, integrate and/or adapt resources to achieve project goals while effectively managing scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.  Determine project risk and assess project activities and resources to mitigate risk on behalf of the government. Manage all aspects of the project’s finances with the client including preparation, negotiation, presentation, approval, and communication of pricing, occupancy agreements, reimbursable work authorizations, and project budget. Provide leadership and direction to a wide range of representatives from within and outside the Federal sector. Brief key leadership on costs, impact, feasibility, alternatives, issues, recommendations and status of project development and implementation.

Qualifications

For each job on your resume, provide: the exact dates you held  each job (from month/year to month/year) number of hours per week you worked (if part time).     If you have volunteered your service through a National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, Americorps), we encourage you to apply and include this experience on your resume.For a brief video on creating a Federal resume, click here. The GS-13 salary range starts at $117,962 per year.  If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.  To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is experience utilizing project management practices and tools to simultaneously manage multiple complex and high-risk construction and/or repair and alteration projects in a real estate environment. This experience must include Managing complex projects (balancing scope/quality, schedule, budget, and risk) requiring the services of multiple disciplines (i.e., construction, design, IT, telecommunications, interior furnishings, etc.) from project initiation phase through financial closeout; Interpreting multi-level customer needs and developing them into actionable requirements; Developing, managing, and balancing project plans, budgets, and schedules, including assessing risk and developing appropriate mitigation strategies; Managing multiple stakeholders by developing relationship strategies; Applying procurement knowledge and experience to manage contracts supporting assigned projects; and negotiating sound real estate business transactions.
