This position is located in the Office of Economics and Analytics (OEA), Industry Analysis Division (IAD), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) located in Washington, DC. Relocation expenses will not be paid.

Duties
The incumbent applies knowledge of statistical theory in the evaluation and selection of statistical techniques of measurement.
Supports the rigorous statistical analyses required to construct and stratify sampling frames, calculate sample allocations.
Selects and modifies statistical techniques and methods to produce accurate and timely information from raw data.
Prepares documentation of procedures, findings, and problems encountered with recommendations.
Prepares data, documentation and/or reports for public release.
Applies the appropriate statistical methods to satisfy ad hoc requests from other Bureaus and Offices within the Commission.

Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

B.Specialized Experience:
GS-09 Specialized Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as follows:
1. Experience preparing structured or unstructured data for statistical analysis 2. Experience ensuring that analysis data pass agency-adopted standards of data quality 3. Experience assisting senior statisticians in the sample design of agency-sponsored surveys, from frame construction to sample selection 4. Experience applying standard methods in statistical analysis and modeling using applications such as R, SAS, etc. 5. Experience producing reports and other information products that accurately present outcomes from survey data or statistical models
OR
Two (2) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree directly related to the position.
OR
Have a combination of education and experience.
