About the Position: The mission of CCAD is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties

Lay out and cuts materials for any combination of square, rectangular, circular, conical, cylindrical, oval, irregular, and transitional shapes, allowing for seams, joints, laps, and shrinkage. Interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders. Use ladders, scaffolds, and hoists for climbing, raising, and placing units or assemblies into position, When required fabricates complete ducting work for air conditioning and heating systems. Perform multi-craft duties requiring some knowledge and skills of allied trades such as electronic mechanic, electrician, air condition mechanics, carpenter, painter, and production machinery mechanic at intermediate or lower level.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a Tier 1 - Non-Sensitive, Low Risk suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires employee to wear protective equipment to include a respirator.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must obtain and maintain a valid government driver’s license.
  • Must undergo and pass pre-appointment physical examination and meet established hearing and vision tests.
  • This position is subject to call out and after-hours duty for equipment failures or required emergency repairs and storm or disaster recovery.

Fabricate, assemble, or install a variety of articles of sheet metal such as gutters, ducts, flashings, safety guards, roof jacks, downspouts, sink tops, drain boards, shelves, toolboxes, counter or tabletops, shower wall sections, etc. Lay out and cut materials for any combination of shapes, allowing for seams, joints, laps, and shrinkage. Bend and form metal parts into desired shapes with hand or power tools and equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools, etc., for Metal WorkDexterity (Assembly, Disassembly, Reassembly, etc.)Knowledge of Equipment, Structure, Materials, etc. (Includes Constructing, Repair, and Forging)Layout and Pattern Development (Includes Geometric Projection and Triangulation) Physical Effort: Requires prolonged standing, climbing on ladders and scaffolding, and working in cramped or awkward positions while installing or repairing large and bulky systems. Required to reach and bend while using hand and power tools and lift items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Working Conditions: Works in well-lighted but noisy shop and outside subject to heat, cold and inclement weather. There is continuous exposure to disagreeable odors, smoke and fumes. Wears protective masks, aprons, and goggles. There is danger of cuts, falls, burns and injuries from hand and power tools. Work requires use of personal protective, equipment such as, but not limited to, half/full face respirators, air pack, dusk masks, safety glasses, and shoes appropriate to the work area and work performed. Discomfort may be experienced while wearing protective equipment.
