You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Command Group, NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY, NORFOLK of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY HAMPTON ROADS.
Duties
You will serve as a liaison between organization and media representatives and community groups.
You will brief and present information to senior management.
You will maintain effective relationships with representatives of the local and national media as well as military and civilian personnel at all levels of the command and other activities.
You will coordinate activities and events with other community relations officers, public affair officials, and local business representatives for outreach efforts.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Coordinate internal, media, and community relations program; 2) Interpret public affairs policies and instructions; 3) Write speeches, news articles, and/or briefs to disseminate information; and 4) Coordinate internal personnel and resources for participation in community relations events; 5) Develop and manage departmental budget.
