You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the GROUND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT BRANCH (GFM) of MARINE FORCES NORTHERN COMMAND.
Duties
You will act as primary overseer of various operational funds and request and distribute them in accordance with plans and/or emergent needs.
You will assist in developing, analyzing, evaluating, and resolving budgets deficiencies, financial issues, and promoting improvements to financial policies, procedures, and system access.
You will keep financial records in balance, distribute funds expeditiously, and maintain the integrity of all types of money.
You will develop monthly budget reviews and facilitate requests for funding.
You will provide training and on-site assistance related to funds execution and accounting system support.
You will collaborate with operating officials on various life-cycle financial phases to ensure that requirements are being met.
You will oversee an integrated system of budget and accounting functions to ensure internal control of accounting records.
You will perform cost-benefit analysis to recommend, defend, or justify funding decisions.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This is a Financial Management Level Two certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, developing, and executing a financial budget and execution phase plan; applying stages of accounting, funds flows, and distribution processes; conduct and/or assist in inspection audits using policies, procedures, and guidelines; provide communication to present briefs, explain results, and recommendations.
