As a Cybersecurity Lead for NASA's Gateway vehicle, you will be responsible for leading the on-orbit and ground security teams ensuring that security is integrated throughout the vehicle's internal and external boundaries with partner programs, International Partners, and element providers. You will collaborate with stakeholders to pursue creative solutions for securing systems, establishing processes, managing risks, and briefing all levels of program and agency management.

Duties

Duties described below are at the highest grade advertised. Duties assigned at lower grade levels will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee. Manage Gateway on-board and ground security teams in the development of security plans. Collaborate with contractors, NASA, International Partners, and element providers to ensure security controls and processes are aligned. Formulate and establish security review process on Gateway systems. Determine structure, content, and cadence for reviews with management. Formulate views of overall Gateway risk against Gateway system security plans. Assess and analyze Gateway systems and security controls to determine risk to the Gateway program, element providers, and partners. Analyze national and agency information technology/cybersecurity mandates, determine impacts to systems, develop implementation strategies, communicate impacts and proposed solutions to management, recommend solutions, and track to closure. Provide systems security engineering support for the Gateway Program, including authority for communications security and key management operations for a cryptographic network. Work with Gateway Program engineering and development teams, analyzing threats for Gateway vehicle software and integrated systems, including planning, research, design, development, test and evaluation, and project management. Provide oversight and monitor contracts for computer engineers to perform various duties to incorporate new technologies, improve reliability, manage integration, and reduce vulnerabilities for the vehicle. Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level. Designing and developing cybersecurity risk assessment reviews to communicate and track current threats, concerns, risks, and vulnerabilities for a space program; Conducting cybersecurity risk assessment reviews to communicate and track current threats, concerns, risks, and vulnerabilities; and Developing and implementing Cybersecurity, Information Technology and Operational Technology policies. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level Providing Cybersecurity Leadership for a major project or program including the design and development of cybersecurity risk assessment reviews to communicate and track current threats, concerns, risks, and vulnerabilities for a space program; Conducting cybersecurity risk assessment reviews to communicate and track current threats, concerns, risks, and vulnerabilities; and Developing, implementing, and monitoring Cybersecurity, Information Technology and Operational Technology policy. AND IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
