Duties
Plans and designs for impacted customers/operational areas; conceives and submits system revisions; implements and operates within impacted accounting areas all or portions of a complex financial accounting system including Advana, GFEBS, and DAI.
Assesses the integration of new computer technology and new means of improving productivity and efficiency of systems within all site accounting mission areas.
Ensures that system designs provide for the integrity of financial records and provide data/reporting capacities for submission of documentation required by the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act for all assigned systems for impacted customers.
Serves as liaison with other impacted customer systems which interface with the accounting system to ensure that all requirements are identified and addressed.
Provides guidance and expert technical advice to associates, bases, major commands, and/or other echelons of management in customer agencies.
Conduct independent studies of complex and diversified information, accounting, and/or financial systems or system components.
Conducts briefings and training session for both internal and external financial system users at all levels to include Senior Executives.
Requirements

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

- Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience Defined As: Performing extensive financial management analysis and evaluation of the most complex situations and/or conditions to identify deficiencies of governing policies, business procedures, automated financial systems, and regulations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
