You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Advanced Security Division, Security Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
Duties
You will assist and provide program protection in the interest of national security.
You will operate within a security team or serve as the alternate Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO), providing advice and assisting the team lead in all aspects of SAP/SAR security programs needed to complete the organization's mission.
You will provide support in the areas of program protection planning; personnel, industrial, physical and Information Systems (IS).
You will prepare, review, and evaluate program and security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in accordance with program requirements.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DA-03:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Applying security concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems; 2) Demonstrating knowledge of Information and Personnel Security program regulations and Physical Security manuals; 3) Providing security oversight related to core disciplines of the Information, Personnel, Physical, and Industrial Security programs; 4) Planning, implementing, and administering Special Access Program (SAP)/Special Access Required (SAR) Security.
DA-02:
Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band (DA-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. General experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; 2) Applying knowledge of DoD security procedures, policy guidelines and regulations for security management of programs, personnel, and resources; 3) Providing entry-level security oversight related to core disciplines of the Information, Personnel, Physical, and Industrial Security programs.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DA-03:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
