Joining the Secret Service, Presidential Protective Division or Vice Presidential Protective Division will allow you to implement and sustain standard financial management processes for the Office of Protective Operations (OPO) and to ensure that fiscal regulations and policies are followed and met for expenditures.
Duties
The selectee will serve as a Financial Management Analystor Vice Presidential Protective Division in the Presidential Protective Division. Typical work assignments include:
Analyzing, modifying, and adapting conventional financial and analytical techniques
sufficient to solve a variety of budget issues, accounting, and resource management problems.
Using pertinent software applications and applicable technology sufficient to track, record, and reconcile financial data.
Preparing various types of correspondence, reports, justifications, documentation, and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
Developing recommendations for senior leadership based on recognized trends in data.
Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one f ull year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Utilizing the policies, procedures and regulations of an organization to process payments or request allotments;
Working with financial systems to monitor and review obligations and other financial transactions;
Resolving discrepancies found in financial data reports; and
Communicating trends within reports and other financial data to upper management and other required stakeholders.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
