About the Position: Serves as Executive Assistant, Administrative Manager, and principal civilian assistant to the Commander of the Omaha District, which encompasses geographically all or portions of 10 States.

Duties

Coordinates and synchronizes the district's daily administration and management operations. Furnishes executive level advice and assistance to the Commander and senior leadership on a variety of issues involving District or regional interests. Directs and/or coordinates the activities of responsible organizational elements on special work projects requiring a multi-disciplined, command-wide view supporting the coordination and integration of significant actions. Reviews directives and orders received from higher authority for the purpose of determining applicability to the mission and operations of the district. Attends and/or arranges for conferences requiring Command Group attendance/participation. Supervises and rates all Administrative Support Team personnel assigned to the Executive Office.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • Must complete a one-year supervisory probationary period to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a state issued driver’s license.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementOrganizational AwarenessPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
