About the Position: Serves as the Resource Management Officer for the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Ctr, located at Monterey, CA.
Duties
Serve as Deputy G-8 responsible for stewardship and management direction for resource management programs for HQ, U.S. Army North.
Identify and evaluate current and long-range program requirements.
Interpret and explain budget requirements and policy directives.
Provide guidance and advice to the Resource Management staff regarding internal policy procedures and operational changes.
Exercises full supervisory responsibilities for Division.
Plan and direct financial and resource management programs in coordination with activities and operating elements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- This is a Financial Management Level 3 certified position; incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
- In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, incumbent must continue to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug testing.
- Personnel security investigation required.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.

Specialized experience : One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Developing, coordinating and maintaining the management of fiscal, budget, accounting and financial services; (2) Planning, directing and evaluating work of various types of employees; (3) Identifying operating policies and procedures to be developed or revised; (4) Advising and briefing high level commands on resource management functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
