About the Position: This position is with USAJFK SPECIAL WARFARE CENTER & SCHOOL, FT Liberty NC. Duties

Serves as project manager for 1st SWTG(A), work with established facility managers to facilitate construction program to ensure the design of all maintenance, repair and new construction projects accomplished through DPWE, various A-E firms, or SDE. Performs engineering studies to determine utilization of real estate, program budgeting, life cycles of equipment and components, and replacement costs for facilities and utilities systems. Attends formal Command and Staff meetings and briefings and is prepared to discuss in detail any and all construction related events focused within 1st SWTG(A) and the five subordinate Battalions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Percentage of time spent TDY is 5%.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the Engineer Staff planning, development, coordination, design, management, and budget oversight. Managing specialized projects deviating from standard engineering practices, troop labor and methods for the development of nonconventional and complex projects involving multi-components and systems. Serving as an authority to execute engineering and program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-10. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: DesignFacilitiesOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
