About the Position: Fort Bragg is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces." It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.
Duties
Develop scope and method of work accomplishment necessary to accomplish repair and/or replacement of real property (buildings, heat/air/ventilation, plumbing, pavement, utilities, etc.)
Justify the engineering rationale and policies of assigned projects through written and oral communications to facility program managers and supervisors.
Analyze failed systems to determine repairs needed to negotiate scopes of work, timelines, and cost and orders out work to be accomplished.
Certify that services have been received; invoice is in accordance with contract terms and authorizes payments to utility supplier.
Make site visits and conducts meetings, with the Ordering Officer as necessary to develop project agreements between the customer, other DPW action officers, contractor representatives, and others.
Participate with procurement personnel in the preparation of technical specifications for negotiating utilities contracts with commercial suppliers or for modifying existing contracts.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.

- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes determines best construction and repair methodology and final scope of work for utilities maintenance projects AND prepares written scopes of work related property repairs to convey intended requirements to Ordering Officers and Contracting Agencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
