You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the COMBAT SYSTEMS DIVISION of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will ensure the timely, economical and efficient management, planning, overhaul, installation and testing of those mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems assigned. You will participate in the initial scoping of work, coordinate advanced planning, review work performed by others. You will resolve major problem issues, assigns team members according to skills and workload requirements. You will provide both technical and administrative supervision over the branch and report directly to the Combat Systems Division Head, Code 290.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing submarine weapons systems, operating principles, component functions, and testing requirements. Experience managing and accomplishing a combat system test program on one or more new overhaul submarines. Experience utilizing mechanical and electrical weapons systems and equipment. Experience in the application of principles and theories of physical and engineering sciences, and practices of electronics, electrical and mechanical engineering.
