You will serve as a PROTOCOL SPECIALIST in the COMMANDER, NAVAL AIR FORCE OFFICE of COMMANDER NAVAL AIR PACIFIC.

Duties

You will provide logistics management of all CNAF/NAE/N5 hosted training symposiums for Prospective Executive and Commanding Officers, Junior Officers, Commanding Officers, Major Commanders, and Aviation Flag Officers. You will review protocol procedures and ensure adherences for all events. You will handle contract finalization for all event venue utilization and catering services. You will escort distinguished visitors as directed. You will prepare official and semi-official correspondence. You will Interpret and implement organizational policies and regulations with respect to protocol practices and issues. You will prepare all Official Representation Fund (ORF) paperwork and maintain program records for Naval Air Forces Headquarters You will provide product development and dissemination for all CNAF (COMMANDER, NAVAL AIR FORCE OFFICE) hosted symposiums or events. You will provide coordination and liaison for Commander, Naval Air Forces in preparation for any local conferences or special event attendance. You will brief personnel attending official ceremonies on appropriate customs and gift exchanges.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position may require you be willing and able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
  • This position may require you to be willing and able to work onboard ships.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and coordinating hosted events and programs (e.g. conferences, meetings, formal visits and symposiums) by overseeing transportation, developing itineraries and issuing correspondence for highly visible command functions. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

A Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent degree
OR
An LL.B. or J.D., in a field directly related to the position being filled
