You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SHIP MAINTENANCE & MATERIAL READINESS SPECIALIST in the SHIP MAINTENANCE AND MATERIEL READINESS DIRECTORATE of COMMANDER NAVAL AIR PACIFIC.
Duties
You will serve as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Ship Maintenance and Materiel Readiness.
You will be directly responsible for the overall coordination of day-to-day matters including the business, financial, engineering, quality assurance, and administrative aspects of the mission.
You will establish program objectives and long-range plans to ensure that cost-wise readiness policies and practices are implemented and to ensure that economy is practiced.
You will develop program policies and provide expert advice on the interpretation and implementation of maintenance and materiel management policies.
You will oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of the mission, including development, assignment, and higher-level clearance of goals and objectives.
You will exercise discretionary authority to approve the allocation and distribution of funds in the organization's budget.
You will direct, coordinate, or oversee work of subordinate supervisors and managers.
You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term and long-term priorities, and prepare work completion schedules.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing and managing ship maintenance, repair, and modernization programs to establish long range objectives and plans for the material readiness of the aircraft carrier force.
