The selectee for this position will serve as a Transportation Assistant in the Travel and Orders Management Department (N33) of Commander Naval Reserve Forces Command (CNRFC) Norfolk, Virginia.

Duties

You will be responsible for matching all claims for payment on the Centrally Billed Accounts (CBA) through the Defense Travel System (DTS) ensuring correct information is submitted on the travel Voucher in order to expedite payment. You will be responsible for answering telephone inquiries, tracking each inquiry and directing and assisting the reservist in the proper procedures for entering orders, travel arrangements and travel voucher into the DTS Import/Export (I/E) system. You will be responsible for administering and reviewing all policy exceptions and justifications as appropriate. You will be responsible for approving and ensuring the legality of the Navy Reserve Order Writing System (NROWS) processing. You will be responsible for liaising with Reserve Force Echelon IV commands to ensure travel vouchers are submitted for outstanding charges on the CBA. You will be responsible for approving travel arrangements submitted by Navy Reservists in following DOD regulations, policies, and CNRFC procedures.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience researching discrepancies in costs, ticket numbers, and unauthorized charges to determine payment of reconciled accounts. Experience matching Centrally Billed Accounts (CBA) with DTS in order to ensure the correct information is submitted to on the travel voucher for correct payment. Experience using a travel system such as Defense Travel System (DTS). Experience reviewing transportation/shipping documentation for completeness and ensuring accuracy. Experience arranging travel involving different modes of transportation, authorizations, entitlements, etc. Experience investigating complaints or errors that require reconstructing and reconciling incomplete information.
