Duties
Establishes and evaluates policy concepts, program philosophies, and broad, basic objectives for the Army's Science and Technology Integration Directorate.
Analyzes and evaluates related technical programs and issues; participates in decisions about research and studies that support the Science and Technology Integration objectives; and solves issues as required by statute, directives, and regulations.
Formulates policies related to the management and execution of the Science and Technology Integration activities.
Ensures that the weapons systems development and acquisition process is responsive to the requirements of Science and Technology Integration.
Monitors overall programs and project, and material and information systems development programs, in terms of Science and Technology Integration maturity and planned capability.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Management and execution of research and development activities, critical support, and long-range strategic planning; and 2) The planning and execution of research and development experimentation events and; 3) Leading or supervising a team of employees to include assigning work, advising teammates, and providing training and guidance on internal processes and procedures

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
This position covered by this vacancy announcement will/may be transitioning to AFC STRL Demo Pay Band DE-IV Category 2. Pay range includes ($139,395 - $ 191,900). The selectee will be notified when the position is transitioned into AFC STRL Demo Pay band."
