About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at USASOC-160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Duties
Ensures that appropriate accreditation documentation is available for the SCIF.
Functions as the Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS) Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the SCIF.
Conducts SCI security briefings, indoctrinations, and debriefings.
Conducts continuing SCI security education, training, and awareness program.
Develops procedures for and conducts limited surveys of industrial or other private facilities where such facilities are to engage inorganization projects.
Maintains surveillance of facilities and personnel to negate espionage or other possible compromise of classified information.
Performs security risk analysis based on vulnerability criteria and reports of physical security surveys to determine the appropriate level of protection and security necessary for subject facilities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance based on either SBI or an SSBI with eligibility for SCI access.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
- Must possess valid driver's license in order to operate a GSA 3/4 ton vehicle for the purpose of shipping and receiving SCI via the Defense Courier Service (DCS).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes:(1) applying security policies and procedures in two of more of the following security disciplines: personnel, information, physical and/or industrial security to meet mission requirements;(2) assisting with the management of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09).
OR
A Ph.D or equivalent Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
