Organizational Location: This position located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, FFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION DIV DIGITAL MARKETING & OUTREACH, in Washington, District of Columbia.
This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Visual Information Specialist, full performance level you will perform the following duties:
Serve as a Visual Information Specialist in the Graphic Design Section;
Provide technical expertise and perform the full range of complex assignments and projects;
Manages projects with changing priorities and short deadlines;
Works in trusted capacity settings with senior leadership and political appointees being exposed to information that is proprietary, pre-decisional, or otherwise sensitive.

Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR):
Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. This position may also require subject-matter knowledge of technical equipment.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
OR
Experience: Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other artwork, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.
In addition to meeting the IOR above, the incumbent must also meet these Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Plan, design, and coordinate production of drawings, presentation art, and typographic designs;
Utilize graphic media and technical equipment relative to production of graphic designs;
Conceptualize and design products where established formats do not exist; AND
Translate generalized requests into specific applications
