About the Position: This position is located at Directorate of Executive, Quality Management William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas.
Duties
Responsible for the Healthcare Risk Management review activities at William Beaumont Army Medical Center for both inpatient and outpatient care.
Coordinate peer reviews of PCEs, claims, AD Deaths.
Identify problems or potential healthcare risk circumstances that must be eliminated or reduced to prevent patient harm.
Investigate cases from multiple data sources, such as inpatient and outpatient records, incident reports, and adverse events.
Facilitate the Healthcare Risk Management Committee.
Provide feedback to hospital leadership about Healthcare Risk Management investigations.
Provide Healthcare Risk Management training to various entities within the facility on a recurring and as- requested basis.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with risk management programs; utilizing automated systems to analyze data; preparing reports and/or briefings for leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, Business or Public Administration with course work in Health Care Administration. Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
