Duties

Serves as Director, Human Performance and Wellness (HPW) Directorate, United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Develops and administers innovative human performance and wellness programs tailored to the requirements of complex, technologically oriented organizations with diverse work forces that encompass a wide variety of occupations and grade levels. Establishes and maintains working relationships with other directorates for purposes of resolving conflicts and assuring optimum control and coordination of programs and operations of high priority or special emphasis. Manages the functions of the Human Performance and Wellness Directorate through subordinate division chiefs. Oversees the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of USASOC Human Performance and Wellness programs.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/SCI security clearance.
• This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
• May travel TDY up to 30% of the time.
• A satisfactory medical examination is required prior to assignment into the position.
• Requires additional work hours to accommodate peak workflow, often under severe time constraints.
• This position is identified as Mission Essential which may require the incumbent to work or remain at work during an emergency situation or when inclement weather.

Experience with policy development; preparation of plans and guidance; analysis and evaluation of program performance in support of strategic objectives and achievement of Strategy, People and Readiness priorities.
