About the position: This position will be assigned to the Moody Outdoor Recreation (Swimming Pool). Guaranteed 0 hours, but may work up to 40 hours per week. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Duties
Continuously observes the swimming pool area to ensure safety of patrons. Follows schedule for opening and closing times for allowed patrons. Promptly rescues swimmers, administers first aid and and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental, or hazardous conditions. May operate water pumps, use controlled chemical additives, inspect diving boards, loose matting and make sure necessary repairs are made. May clean main pools, wading pools, sunbathing areas, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue methods and skills, as well as basic first aid, and CPR (both child and adult) training. Must have experience which provides a practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skills in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment is desirable.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
