You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENTIST in the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (CNMOC) Of NAV METEOROLOGY AND OCEANOGRAPHIC CMD.
Incumbent will serve as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (DACOS)
This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.
Term appointments may be extended up to 10 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. See Additional Section
Duties
You will act as Operational Planning Team (OPT) Lead for emergent operational matters and coordinates responses among the other departments.
You will determine program goals and develops work plans for the Department.
You will determine resource needs, allocating resources, and accounting for the Department.
You will contribute to management planning by regular participation in higher level staff meetings and provide oversight and advises the CNMOC Operational Enterprise Watch organization and Senior Watch Officer.
You will maintain and update the Mission, Functions, and Tasks for the Operations Department.
You will collaborate w/other CNMOC department heads or their representatives to negotiate, decide and/or coordinate changes that may affect other departments.
You will assign, supervise and approve work efforts within the department.
You will evaluate the performance of subordinates and reviews evaluations made by subordinate supervisors on other employees.

- This position requires access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) on a continuing daily basis. Must obtain and maintain a TOP Secret Clearance.
- Incumbent must complete an initial Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and be favorably adjudicated to meet the Navy SCI personnel and security criteria derived from Director of National Intelligence.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized Experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Applying theories, concepts, principles, and practices of meteorology, oceanography and hydrography in operational and military applications;
Planning, managing, reviewing and undertake overall technical responsibility for functions of the organization;
Prioritizing, developing and implementing work schedules for completion of assignments;
Developing, updating, implementing, evaluating, and submitting personnel performance documentation/awards made by subordinate supervisors on other employees;
Providing operational and technical advice on organizational, (e.g., METOC), support w/ to represent higher level leadership, (e.g., CTG 80.7), w/ briefs, documents, and oral presentations; AND
Utilizing Program/Project management strategies, concepts and principles to act as Assistant Chief of Staff as needed during periods of absence of the executive leadership "Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS)".
