This position is located in the Division of Complex Institution Supervision and Resolution (CISR), Systemic Risk Branch, Data Analytics Sub-Branch of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of the nation's financial system.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-9: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-07 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience providing financial and statistical data or other information via automated sources.
OR you may substitute education as follows:
You must have earned a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Have a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be combined with experience.
CG-11: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-09 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience analyzing financial and statistical data or other information via automated sources to support risk analysis of financial institutions.
OR you may substitute education as follows:
You must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in economics or a related field or LL.M., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Have a combination of education and experience that meets the requirements for the CG-11. You must have graduate level education as described above, beyond the 2nd full year of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
CG-12: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-11 grade level or above in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience performing financial and industry analysis pertaining to banking systems; the financial industry, the financial markets, or commercial banks and thrifts in using software tools to analyze data to identify risks that affect large financial institutions.
