This position is part of the Selective Service System, Operations Directorate, Region 3. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, developing, and presenting analyses and studies leading to development, validation, improvement of agency mobilization programs, policies and procedures as well as the training programs associated with them.
Duties
Assists region management in developing and maintaining readiness for local board programs.
Researches and analyzes current state programs for state directors, reserve servicemembers and local, district appeal and national appeal board members.
Assists in management and maintenance of the agency’s continuity of operations planning and disaster preparedness.
Qualifications
At the GS-12 level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position includes experience in (1) business process improvement, process mapping, and optimization; and database modeling, data analysis and reporting; (2) recommend procedures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of program operations; (3) and collaborate with management and staff from other external offices to implement a large scale national or regional program.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at this series/grade level.
