THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a PRIMARY PREVENTION SPECIALIST (PREV WF), Position Description Number T0029P01 and is part of the CO JFHQ J9, National Guard.
This position serves as the implementer of the Integrated Primary Prevention (IPP) Program.
Duties
Serves as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities; provides program coordination and serves as the subject matter expert for the Army Brigade/Region IPP program. Supports inter- and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the Army Brigade/regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Serves as the Army Brigade/Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy climate, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communication campaigns within the Army Brigade/Region. Recruits, trains, and facilitates military volunteers for prevention activity implementation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Must have experience or knowledge in each of the following:
1. Experience working with or knowledge of complex helping systems and professional organizations, how they positively or negatively affect individual and family welfare, and the multiple ways these systems and organizations operate to deliver services.
2. Experience working with or knowledge of and skill in planning, conducting and evaluating Primary Prevention training programs.
3. Experience working with or knowledge of the regulations, policies, and precedents that are used for developing the action plans to implement approved prevention strategies.
4. Experience working with or knowledge of policies and requirements for the development and analysis of the Prevention Programs efforts in order to integrate effective prevention measures.
Education
Basic Requirement
Degree: Masters in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
