The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to a Branch in the HQ AMC Air Transportation Division (AMC/A4T). This is a competitive Promotion NTE 120 days.
Duties
Performs logistics management responsibilities. Plans, organizes, and directs activities associated with AMC Air Transportation and Logistics Management, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Exercises supervisory management responsibilities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short-term priorities, and prepares schedules.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with peers and leaders on AMC Staff, other tics Staffs, United States Transportation Command, and the Headquarters Army, Navy, and Marine Corps Service Staff.
Serves as technical advisory to Air Transportation Division Chief (0-6) and Air Transportation Deputy Division Chief.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
- Extensive knowledge of full range of air transportation, aerial port operations, and logistics management at the MAJCOM level
- A high degree of initiative, combined with mature judgment and ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead small to mid-sized teams of civilian and military air transportation and logistics management specialists.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes thorough knowledge of the DOD, HQ Air Force, Joint, and HQ AMC policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to Air Transportation functions across the Mobility Air Force (MAF) Enterprise. Extensive knowledge of the Air Transportation mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of DOD and Air Force organizations to provide command level staff guidance regarding the global movement of passengers and cargo within the Defense Transportation System (DTS), the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) commercial partners, and other commercial airlift entities. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of existing automated transportation and logistics support systems such as the Global Air Transportation System (GATES), Cargo Movement Operating System (CMOS), and the Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES).
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
