You will serve as a Technical Project Manager (Technician) in the Fleet Readiness Portfolio (PD4) Division of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, Port Hueneme Division.

Duties

You will serve as the Fleet Readiness Technical Project Manager (Technician) responsible for the management and oversight of all Fleet Readiness tasking. You will serve as an expert in the planning, monitoring, and administration of all fleet readiness tasting throughout the Department. You will serve as the primary interface for tasking as assigned by the Fleet Customer Advocate (CA) and act as point of contact for all existing and new fleet readiness tasking. You will maintain AEGIS Fleet Readiness processes and products, maintaining Fleet readiness situational awareness, facilitating AEGIS Combat System technical resolution, and distribute daily status reports. You will coordinate pre-deployment support and real time data analysis and performance evaluation. You will provide engineering, technical, and programmatic leadership to personnel and contractors assigned to fleet readiness tasking. You will direct and oversee work throughout the department, including monitoring quality of appropriate product deliverable, and making decisions on technical and fiscal issues presented by subordinate personnel. You will review and analyze options, decide on prudent course of action and influence the decisions of others in authority to accept their decision.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing technical support (e.g. planning, monitoring, and evaluating) to identity, resolve, and maintain the readiness of all existing and new ships..
