This position is located at Departmental Offices,International Affairs. As a/an Senior Financial Analyst, you will apply a thorough knowledge of international corporation finance and an extensive background in the international financial and management operations and practices of commercial or other corporate organizations in performing financial analysis and evaluation duties of great difficulty.
Duties

As a/an Senior Financial Analyst, you will recognize, define, and develop tentative conclusions and initial recommendations with respect to problems or questions of a new or unprecedented nature. Also, you will:
Interpret financial markets regulatory policy, prepare policy briefings to explain, clarify and defend the Treasury Department and US Government policy in discussions on complex financial markets issues.
Review and analyze markets reports and studies relating to financial markets, capital market reports, financial stability reports and vulnerabilities, bank stress tests and financial soundness indicators.
Lead preparations of oral and written briefings for senior Treasury officials on financial markets. Review and analyze quarterly reports on cross-border banking data and central bank publications, and private financial markets research.
Follow and assess financial market issues in the U.S. and key countries within a region, such as Latin America; provide briefing materials for senior Treasury officials meeting with visiting counterparts.
Provide expert advice for country desk officers and functional departments in Domestic Finance and work to establish, develop, and maintain contacts at US financial regulatory agencies and the private sector.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized Experience for this position requires meeting both A and B:
A. Experience in banking and financial services; consumer lending; microenterprise or small business finance; cross-border data flows, fintech; AND
B. Experience monitoring and analyzing enterprise level investments; OR Experience monitoring international financial sector risks.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
