You will serve as a OFFICE SUPPORT CLERK (OA) in the Environmental Management Division, Environmental Conservation Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will serve as the office support clerk for the Conservation Law Enforcement office maintain an organized and presentable environment characteristic of a law enforcement office. You will provide basic and some technical knowledge of the rules, regulations and guidelines governing requests for permits associated with the game and wildlife programs. You will organize work, use initiative to complete work and independently complete assignments of a routine nature. You will maintain files and locate information from files when needed. You will provide quality customer service by communicating orally in order to provide accurate and clear information, answer questions, deal with emergency and routine patrol calls over the radio and coordinate the clerical work of the office. You will screen and provide permit/license applicants to determine appropriate eligibility and administer required testing, and collect fees. You will perform basic accounting and monetary accountability duties associated with the collection and recording of fees for permits/licenses. You will make self-serve runs for required materials, maintain records of purchases made. You will deal with difficult customers and tactfully explain the procedures or rules governing their situation.

  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You may be required to work seasonal overtime to include occasional weekends.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of generalized experience in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide a variety of administrative and support type duties (e.g. technical reporting, security, travel, procurement and forms management); perform work in connection with special projects, wildlife issues and radio communications; communicate orally to clear information, answer questions, emergency and routine patrol calls, and coordinate office clerical work. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • I have successfully completed at least two full academic years of education above high school or
  • I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
