About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Deputy Product Manager (DPM) for an assigned Program Executive Office (PEO).
Duties
Manage all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment and product improvements with a multi-million dollar annual budget.
Balance cost, schedule and performance to assure best value for the Army.
Manage a government team consisting of assigned civilian and military personnel, matrix and support civilian and military personnel, and the efforts of principal contractor teams.
Identify training needs, find ways to improve production and promote team building, recommends awards, and develops performance standards.
Direct the development of life cycle documentation for assigned projects and funds.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) and requires a 3-year tenure agreement. Must sign DD Form 2889 (Critical Acquisition Position Service Agreement) and execute, as a condition of employment, a written tenure agreement
- This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position. Selectee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category of Program Management and Advanced Career Level IV Certification must be met within 4 years.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- Position may require a mobility agreement.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position is subject to a one- year probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:1) Applying regulatory principles to analyze programs and select an appropriate course of action to accomplish tasks; 2) Evaluating assigned aviation programs to ensure compliance to pinpoint the resulting impact on areas such as scheduling and cost; and, 3) Managing areas such as the fielding, sustainment, and testing for an assigned acquisition program. This definition of specialized experience typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-03/GS-13) position in the federal service.
