About the Position: TACOM is located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan which is in Detroit's largest suburb located about 15 miles north of downtown. The area offers world-class museums, art galleries, concert halls, golf courses, several prestigious universities, and collegiate and professional athletic venues.
Duties
Serves as a journeyman/expert level Financial Management Analyst providing advice and guidance covering a wide variety of financial policies and requirements.
Reviews, analyzes, and interprets various financial documents and reports, recommending solutions to difficult and complex problems.
Interprets regulations and directives promulgated by higher authority covering a variety of resource management disciplines to establish, prepare, and disseminate guidance to customers.
Performs a full range of Customer Service functions for a variety of customers which have varied pay plans.
Maintains functional knowledge of multiple payroll systems, policies, and procedures to effectively assist employees.
Answers civilian employees' questions regarding payroll adjustments and research historical records to detect errors and transmit records to the Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) for resolution.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) may be required up to 10%. Include TDY associated with individual training or local travel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing assignments that require identifying, researching, and resolving payroll or financial problems; 2) Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, standards, and/or procedures to address specific financial or payroll issues; and 3) Processing a variety of payroll and time/attendance data which impacts pay and labor postings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
