Serves as a program expert and authority in the office of Personnel on studies and projects covering many areas of SSA's personnel program. Participates in the evaluation of plans for achieving long-range and immediate goals of the agency's personnel management program.
Duties
Participates in and/or leads self managed work/project teams of a temporary nature which can be rapidly deployed to address high priority interdisciplinary personnel projects of a specialized nature.
Conducts administrative surveys and special studies to provide managers with information and assistance to assure conformance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and SSA policies and directives.
Designs, analyzes, and implements a variety of research projects in the areas of personnel management.
[cont'd] Prepares special reports and position papers with options and recommended courses of action on complex administrative and operational personnel issues that transcend component lines.

Qualifications

Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Eligibles (i.e., Preference-eligible veterans OR veterans who have been separated from the armed forces under honorable conditions after 3 years or more of continuous service).

HOW TO QUALIFY: Eligible applicants must meet the following qualification requirements.
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include work that involves leading suitability-related projects and programs according to suitability regulations/policy. As well as providing recommendations to management.
