You will serve as a ASSISTANT COMMAND INSPECTOR GENERAL in the US MARINE CORPS FORCES SPEC OPS CMD, COMMAND STAFF of USMC FORCES SPECIAL OPERATIONS CMD.

Duties

You will be responsible for scheduling, managing, monitoring, and evaluating work plans, objectives, schedules, and resources under the Inspector General's purview. You will be responsible for quality control and final determination of ratings of investigations, inspections, and other reports or communications directed to higher authorities and released by the Command Inspector General (CIG). You will be responsible for developing command wide policies, procedures and strategies concerning Inspector General Hotline investigations/inquiries. You will receive and analyze incoming complaints from a number of delivery methods and sources, identify required resources, determine urgency, priority, and then determine the proper course of action to resolve the complaint. You will independently develop an investigative/inquiry plan encompassing all aspects of the process, including investigative methods, techniques, and procedures. You will formulate allegations, evaluate evidence, determine witnesses to be interviewed, and prepare clear, concise, accurate, unbiased reports supported by legally sufficient evidence. You will develop command wide policies, procedures, and strategies and make recommendations which change or influence the development or modification of significant policies and programs. You will evaluate the mission capability and combat readiness of the command, and then compile a Unit Inspection Report (UIR) that reflects overall results.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing the development and implementation of Inspector General (IG) plans, policies, programs, and procedures AND developing an investigative/inquiry plan encompassing all aspects of the process, including investigative methods, techniques, and procedures.
