You will serve as a SUPV CONSERVATION LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER in the ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will be responsible for the enforcement of environmental and natural resources laws and regulations.
You will conserve, enhance, and protect natural and cultural resources in accordance with integrated natural and cultural resources management plans for the continuing benefit of Installation mission.
You will issue citations and files criminal complaints; prepares violation notices for submission to the local, state and federal agencies for prosecution.
You will document the unlawful take or killing of federally protected species when encountered and conducts initial investigation for referral to USFWS Resident Agent in Charge (RAC).
You will investigate violations of Federal and state fish and wildlife laws including poaching, illegal hunting of waterfowl, illegal use of aircraft for hunting and other illegal commercial activities.
You will prepare investigation or case reports by documenting facts and obtaining witness statements and copies of official records, including pertinent evidence, correspondence, maps, historical information, exhibits, and photographs.
You will operate law enforcement vehicle and vessel, observe and conduct surveillance in uniform and in plain clothes when directed by a supervisor.
You will supervise three Conservation Law Enforcement Officers
You will assist other natural resource programs in development of Base regulations related to hunting and fishing, protected species, and other natural and cultural resources.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position requires the carrying of authorized firearms and compliance with all Federal and State laws, regulations, and policies regarding the use of such weapons. Incumbent will be held fully accountable for actions thereof.
- Required to wear a uniform and badges/adhere to uniform policy.
- Must meet and maintain certification requirements and standards set forth in MARINE CORPS ORDER 5090.4
- The duties require frequent or immediate strenuous exertion in law enforcement, search and rescue, and related emergency activities. Lifting or carrying equipment weighing over 50 pounds may be required.
- Dangerous persons must be physically confronted, subdued, and apprehended, many of whom are known to carry weapons. Prisoners must be kept under physical restraint during transport and processing.
Qualifications
GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Providing oversight to law enforcement officers for the purpose of investigating, arresting, and issuing of citations for a variety of violations of environmental and natural resources laws, rules, and regulations.
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) Performing law enforcement and patrol duties for the purpose of investigating, arresting, and issuing of citations for a variety of violations of environmental and natural resources laws, rules, and regulations.

Education
You may also meet the minimum qualifications through education and/or combination of education and experience by satisfying one of the following:
GS-11: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
Or
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Or
