Duties
Provides support, administration, and the maintenance necessary on a wide array of technologies to ensure effective and efficient system performance and security.
Assist with efforts to conceptualize, design, procure, and/or build secure IT systems.
Keep abreast of technological advances regarding capabilities designed to assist in the identification, analysis, and mitigation of threats to information technology systems.
Provide expert technical guidance and oversight regarding the employment and usage of cyberspace capabilities.
Act as a technical advisor during the software development life-cycle performing testing and validation in accordance with organizational guidance, policies, and standards.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations approximately 30% of the time.
- May be required to work uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Must attend, as scheduled, those technical and/or system functional area training courses required to obtain and maintain unit specific qualifications to meet mission requirements.
- Must successfully complete counter-intelligence (CI) scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- Position subject to one-year probationary period unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which includes applying cybersecurity principles, concepts, and standards, as well as current and future needs and trends; providing technical adviceand project management oversight regarding IT system performance and security initiatives; and implementing applications software within an organization and coordinating systems design, installation, and support.
