You will serve as a Financial Management Analyst in the Ship Maintenance and Fleet Support Branch; Financial Management and Fleet Comptroller Division of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET. Salary Ranges GS-12: $90,662 to $117,856 + COLA GS-13: $107,809 to $140,155 + COLA

Duties

You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration. You will formulate budget and estimates to support plans, programs, and activities, including presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities. You will review and evaluate budget requests, control, and reporting of obligations and expenditures. You will develop, determine, and interpret budgetary policies and practices. You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations. You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets and provide advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization's programs and activities.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using financial management systems and data analysis software to lead the analysis and evaluation of budget formulation and reporting for a financial management program. GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing budget programs using multiple financial management systems and data analysis software and advising and interpreting budget policies and regulations for a financial program.
