About the Position: Serves as Budget Officer in the Program and Budget Division, Directorate of Business Operations, Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC). Operates as primary point of contact for Director, Directorate of Business Operations on all administrative, budgetary, and supervisory matters for WAMC.
Duties
Advise Director, Directorate of Business Operations on administration of the Womack Army Medical Center Program.
Responsible for work performed by nine (9) subordinate Budget Analysts and Technicians (team members) in the Program and Budget Division.
Direct a program with significant resources at a multimillion-dollar level of annual resource.
Receive and resolve first level grievances and complaints.
Responsible for the full component of budgetary processes and procedures related to the Travel/Training Program.
Develop and report to higher management estimates of budget requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a favorable result from a National Agency Background Check as a condition of employment.
- Incumbent of this position is required to file a Confidential Disclosure Report in accordance with Joint Ethics Regulation (JER), Section 3, 7-300 through 7-306.
- Financial Management Level 3 Certified position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Providing budgetary funding and guidance for which operational responsibility has been assigned; (2) coordinating financial and resource planning to execute medical facility objectives; AND (3) analyzing medical facility budgetary data and trends to assess effectiveness of expenditures.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
