You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the WEAPON AND SENSOR INSTALLATION DIVISION, MODERNIZATION AND INSTALLATION DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION. Salary Ranges per location: Mayport, FL: $86,962 - $158,860 (Capped at GS-13 step 10 $134,435) Port Hueneme, CA: $101,121 - $184,725 (Capped at GS-13 step 10 $156,323)

Duties

You will serve as Installation and Checkout Team Lead responsible for providing expert consultant system engineering services and engineering assistance in installation, testing, evaluation and maintenance of the installed alteration on platforms. You will coordinate the group's effort and act as the Group Senior Technician to achieve the goals of the assigned tasks. You will provide oversight of all phases of tasking related to installations specified in applicable alteration/shipboard change documents. You will initiate requirements and funding requests, analyze funds, plan, coordinate, schedule, and manage multiple installation projects. You will develop maintenance processes and provide technical oversight of the development of detailed internal processes and procedures required to induct, inspect, repair, test and deliver weapon systems equipment. You will ensure Alteration Installation Team (AIT) compliance with NSWC PHD AIT Manager Quality Assurance Program (AMQAP) and specified technical and quality requirements.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing engineering project and resource requirements to coordinate the installation, testing, and evaluation of ship systems for a warfare program.
