This position is located in the Department of State, Bureau of Medical Services (MED), within the Managing Directorate of Operational Medicine (OM), in the Office of Strategic Medical Preparedness (SMP). The mission of the Bureau of Medical Services (MED) is to promote and safeguard the health and well- being of America's diplomatic community and to facilitate the diplomatic efforts of the Department of State.
Duties
Directs the Multi Casualty Post Preparedness program operations engaged in managing the medical preparedness at every Diplomatic Post and Consulate in the world.
Oversees the implementation of medical training support program functions, to include implementation of program segment support to high threat and highly austere posts.
Develops, manages and coordinates medical emergency and crises response plans.
Collaborates across the interagency and intelligence community to optimize medical emergency and crisis response planning/ execution.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Obtain/maintain eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information
- Statement of Employment & Financial Interest required prior to appointment.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service that provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing, leading, and coordinating emergency medical preparedness/response plans.
Experience advising on medical emergency management and crises response functions.
Experience developing and overseeing training for emergency planning.
In addition, applicant's experience must also demonstrate that the candidate possesses the following qualities:
Ability to assign, review, and supervise the work of others;
Objectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability, and situations on the facts and circumstances;
Ability to adjust to change, work pressures, or difficult situations without undue stress;
Willingness to consider new ideas or divergent points of view; and
Capacity to "see the job through."
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
