Duties

Serves as the executive administrative specialist to the Garrison Command Office. Assists in making all necessary arrangements of travel for the Garrison Command Group, arranging schedules of visits, making all transportation and hotel reservations. Maintains the Garrison staff action tracker and processing repository to monitor staffing actions to implement the Command Groups prioritization. Reviews incoming correspondence, publications, regulations and directives. Evaluates several different and unrelated work processes and advises management on the most efficient process to use concerning internal administrative operations.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

OR Education: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the wo rk of the position, such as Accounting, Finance Statistics or Economics. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationOrganizational AwarenessOrganizational DevelopmentWorkforce Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
